The Spookfish (Hudson Valley)

The Spookfish is the long running project of Dan Goldberg, currently based in Newburgh, NY. Mixing together warm, wobbly, and sometimes eerie synth and drum machine instrumentals, American Primitive guitar composition, and lyrical songwriting, The Spookfish has shared the stage with The Microphones, Diane Cluck, Calvin Johnson, Marisa Anderson, among many others. He has released albums on Lily Tapes and Discs, Fire Talk Records, We Be Friends, Patient Sounds, Singapore Sling, and Solid Melts. Dan was also featured in the New York Times for leading concerts on mountains (40 so far). The last full length album, “Bear in the Snow”, was accompanied by a videogame that Goldberg designed, animated, and programmed by himself inspired by dreams and the forests of the Hudson Valley, for which he received a grant from Space Gallery (Portland, ME) and the National Endowment of the Arts to complete.

DM Stith is a singer-songwriter and visual artist currently living in upstate NY, DM Stith has explored his expressive vocal range on three solo albums of original music. He’s collaborated extensively with other artists such as Thomas Bartlett, Son Lux, My Brightest Diamond, Anna B Savage, and toured extensively in Sufjan Stevens’ live band.
